18th Birthday Party

This 18th Birthday Party was a complete success with Platinum Entertainment DJ Services.  It was held at the Costa Verano Condos in Jacksonville Beach.

In a beautifully decorated room, the Birthday Girl and 33 of her closest friends had a wonderful night of dancing, food and fellowship.  I played the top hits and some hits from the eighties.

A unique point to the party was the Auction.  The Father and Birthday Girl put together about 15 gifts to be bid on by all, with play money of course.  All of the guests got into a fierce competition trying to outbid each other.  It was a great time.

The night ended in a brutal rendition of Musical Chairs.  The winner was actually on the floor with a tipped over chair.

Wedding Reception @ Columbia Restaurant St. Augustine

I was hired to DJ a wedding reception at the Columbia Restaurant in St. Augustine on 10-27-12.  It was a smaller reception, only about 45 people.  However, this gathering was proof positive you do not need hundreds of people to have a great time.  The restaurant, if you have not been there, is very picturesque. The wait staff and the food were outstanding.  I had a smaller setup, only two speakers, one sound active light and a laser.  However, for the size room it was perfect.  DJ Beau and I performed the Shoe Game, for the first time, with the Bride and Groom.  It was a complete success and the crowd loved it.  I would highly recommend this venue for a party or wedding reception, as long as you attendance is no more than 45.  The only negative was no designated dance floor however, with 45 people or less there was enough room for 15-20 people to have a great time dancing.  I love being a mobile DJ.  Platinum Entertainment DJ Services can't wait to entertain at this venue again.
I was set up from where this picture was taken.

10 Year Anniversary F.O.P. Lodge Jacksonville, FL

I was hired to DJ a 10th Anniversary Party in Jacksonville, FL at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5-30.  The Robinson's wanted to have a fun and upbeat environment.  So I provided lively music at just the right volume and they danced the night away while enjoying the lighting, special effects and lasers that is standard with all my performances.  The wife wanted a unique twist to her party so she hired Zumba Instructors for a portion of the night.  Everyone had a wonderful time and fun was had by all.  The Lodge was a great size.  Platinum Entertainment DJ Services wants to party with the Robinson's again in the future.  Being a Mobile DJ is so much fun and a great time with people during great events in their life.  I love it.

Wedding Ceremony & Reception Palm Valley Gardens

I was hired to DJ a Wedding Ceremony and Reception at the Palm Valley Gardens.  The afternoon started at the rear of the 3 acre property under a beautiful oak tree.  The elegant Bride walked along the man-made tranquil blue pond and to her Groom while the music played, and there under that majestic Oak they shared their vows and expressed their eternal love for each other.

Once the Wedding Ceremony had concluded the guest migrated up to the rear of the House where the gorgeous reception was to be held under tent.  The guest enjoyed the open bar and appetizers while the couple had their pictures taken.

Once the Bride and Groom had arrived I announced the happy couple they danced their first dance as husband and wife and then the party started.  The delicious food was served and the music was filling the tent.  You could just feel the warmth of family and friends in the air even though the temperature was a bit chilly.

I will say this was the most dancing group of people I have ever performed for.  They were dancing during the dinner music and kept the pace for the rest of the night.
The Bride and Groom left a bit before the Reception was over however, that did not stop the party.  A good portion of the guest stayed all the way up to closing time enjoying each other’s company, the wine and music.  One of my favorite Weddings I have had the fortune to perform for.

Wedding Reception in Georgia

I was hired to DJ a Reception on St. Simons Island… So, I took a little trip up to the Golden Isles of Georgia.  The venue was at the Sea Palms Resort, a nice golf and tennis club.  It was a beautiful location for a Coastal Serene Wedding.  I was not involved in providing music for this couples ceremony.  So, my focus was on the Wedding Reception.

While I was setting up, the room was abuzz with florist, caterers, and Resort Staff preparing the most beautiful room for a night of wining and dining.

The Bride and Groom entered, after their ceremony and pictures, to a dimly lit room with my lights exuding beautiful white beams through the lightly fogged room.  They danced their first dance, then the wedding party and everyone was dressed to the nines.

As the reception progressed the bride loved the dance floor and could not stay off it.  The bride for this event is the one who is on the top of all of my website pages.  We partied the night away, the lights where gleaming, the speakers were thumping and before any of us realized it was time for the night to end.  While I don’t like disappointing, I do love leaving a crowd wanting more.  I believe its sign I did my job.

While I was packing my things in my vehicle I overheard more than a dozen guests discussing where they could go to keep dancing.  I just smiled and hopped in my truck knowing I just received a great compliment… and that was, everyone had a great time.

Sweet 16 at the Golden Glades

I was hired to DJ a Sweet Sixteen at The Golden Glades / The Woods Club House.  I arrived early, as I always do, and the family was working together like a colony of ants to transform the club house into a Sweet 16 party pad that truly identified with Riley.
I was set up before the young lady of the hour arrived and so I entertained the parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents with music more to their taste. (Frank Sinatra, Bee gees, Elvis and such)
I will never forget when I played Stayin’ Alive by the Bee Gees.  The Grandfather walked out of the kitchen so I could see him, gave me 2 thumbs up and said he had that C.D. in his truck right now.  I smiled and was happy to entertain before the night even started.
Once the “Sweet 16” arrived the party was on.  We did start the night out with a slow dance for the Grandfather and Granddaughter which was very touching. Especially since the Grandfather was not in the best of health and it was unsure of his attendance at next year's party.
We partied the night away with the Cha Cha slide, Cupid Shuffle and the Train.  Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the club like environment created by the lights and fog.  The parents, aunts and uncles even made some request for some 80’s music to get on the floor and “Drop it like its Hot” J  I really enjoyed performing for such a close nit family and hope to be there for future events.
